Exploring Hand-Painted And Hand-Written Type

The talk will let you through journey of exploring type. In the time of globalisation and digitisation we are not looking at the different possibilities and mediums that type can create and have; i would also like to show you some explorations that i did and many from others as well and would like to share the experience while doing such explorations. The process and the difficulties faced will be discussed as well. The session is majorly based on hand painted indic types, the form, texture and feel they create. It will also give you a tour of bill boards signage and display hand painted fonts. The biggest takeaway you can take from the talk will be getting out of your constraints while designing type and trying out some new possibilities in the growing digital world.
