Type as Our Identity

Type as Our Identity is a talk about how my identity became a part of my journey with type design. I created a hybrid typeface, using Latin and Devanagari typefaces in my senior year of college, which has since become an ongoing personal project. This talk will explain my ideas that lead to the creation of the project and the challenges I faced that has inspired me to study my native language further to design a type that is accessible to all. It is my personal goal to make sure my language and culture are preserved and passed on to many generations to come. I want to inspire others to embark on their own cultural typographical journey.
