Wood Type is Good Type

In 2018 I designed my first ever wood type font. Having never done it before, I assumed it would be fairly simple. So, to make it more complicated, I made it a chromatic font. Oh, and italic. Because it wasn't complicated enough. If you know letterpress, you'll be laughing right now. This talk is a look at the process of making wood type in the modern age, and what us digital designers can learn from the old ways. It's full of beautiful, detailed and colourful wood type. And also mine.
