Chaiti Nath is an interdisciplinary visual artist and an art history enthusiast. Her keen interest, on one hand, in the innate designer that is nature and on the other hand, the popular culture - created a perpetual dichotomy that pushed her to move into graphic design, analogoue printmaking and surface design, putting aside a career in the field of engineering. Chaiti used her pen name mumtendu* to execute multiple mural projects in Calcutta.
She currently works and lives in Santiniketan, a countryside in the suburbs of Calcutta,India. The quaint charm of countryside and living only out of essentials in a spacious studio among the greens lets her explore into eccentric art adventures. Besides, researching on popular culture, designing and illustrating she is interested in farming, folk music and pottery. She is an avid reader, almost idolizes John Berger and a crazy cinema buff.
