Todd Gilens is a visual artist using writing, drawing and photography to develop site-specific artworks around social and ecological themes. Current projects combine handwriting, ecology and public space in support of shared, thoughtful reflection on the occupation of land. Todd’s work has been seen on public transit vehicles, in botanical gardens, arts and conference centers, abandoned factories and wilderness areas among other places, and has been supported by the National Forest Foundation, Dumbarton Oaks, Digital Arts Studio and Adobe Foundation, among others. He holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Harvard University and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
